In late August I had the pleasure of visiting Walter Palls garden for his annual ''Late Summer Meeting'' garden party in Germany.
From Zagreb in Croatia, Walter is a long way away. After more than 8 hours, 600 kilometers of road, traffic jams and a long journey down the freeway in Germany, we finally arrived.
Once you arrive at Walter's village, you discover a regular village street and a regular looking house, with the regular looking garden in the front, but with the jewel of Mr Walter Pall's garden in the back.
When you walk into his garden, you enter the world of one of the greatest bonsai artists of today...
And you're already stunned, expecially if it's your first time there, as it was for me and my girlfriend.
And then, you see this stunning juniper which absolutely took my breath away...

Continuing to walk through the garden brings you to an area of wide benches with loads and loads of shohin or ''smaller trees'' of all kinds...this was already too much for me, as I had already started drooling.............
After the first ''shock'' the garden opened up, showing all the beauty and art of bonsai, with some of the most famous trees in the world.......I was speechless!!!
Mr Pall was so kind and took us on a small stroll through his garden, telling us some great stories about his trees... about his 1000+yr old juniper bonsai, his Salvadore Dali pine and more... it was a real pleasure to hear such stuff...
